Notification Preferences
Mellonial helps you stay informed about your job search and important updates. Your "Notification Preferences" allow you to decide what information you receive and how you receive it, ensuring you only get the alerts that matter most to you. This helps keep your inbox tidy and your focus clear!
Accessing Your Notification Settings
To customize your notification preferences, you'll need to navigate to your profile settings.
- Log in to your Mellonial account.
- In the top-right corner of the screen, click on your Profile Picture or User Icon.
- From the dropdown menu, select Settings or Profile Settings.

- On the settings page, look for a section or tab labeled Notification Preferences. Click on it to view your options.

Understanding Your Notification Options
Once you're in the Notification Preferences section, you'll see various options to control the alerts you receive. Mellonial typically offers two main types of notifications: Email and In-App.
Email Notifications
Email notifications are sent directly to the email address associated with your Mellonial account. These are great for keeping you updated even when you're not actively using the platform.
Here are common types of email notifications you can manage:
- New Job Alerts: Get notified when new job listings matching your saved search criteria or profile preferences become available.
- Application Status Updates: Receive emails when the status of one of your job applications changes (e.g., "Application Received," "Under Review," "Interview Request").
- Important Announcements: Stay informed about new Mellonial features, service updates, or important news.
To manage these:
- You'll typically see a list of notification types with a toggle switch or checkbox next to each.
- Click the toggle or checkbox to enable (turn on) or disable (turn off) a specific notification type.

Tip: If you're not receiving expected email notifications, please check your email's spam or junk folder. Sometimes, legitimate emails can accidentally end up there!
In-App Notifications
In-app notifications appear directly within the Mellonial platform, often as a small badge on an icon (like a bell icon) or within a dedicated "Notifications" section. These are perfect for real-time updates while you're browsing Mellonial.
Common in-app notifications might include:
- Application Milestones: Quick alerts about your application progress.
- System Alerts: Important messages about your account or platform status.
To manage these:
- Similar to email notifications, you'll find toggle switches or checkboxes for each type of in-app notification.
- Adjust them based on your preference for how much information you want to see directly within the app.

Important: While you have control over most notifications, some essential service-related communications from Mellonial (e.g., password reset confirmations, critical terms of service updates) might always be sent to ensure account security and compliance.
Saving Your Changes
After you've made your desired adjustments to the notification preferences:
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Save Changes or Update Preferences button.
- Mellonial will confirm that your settings have been updated.
